Hey hey!! It’s finally Friday and we’ve FINALLY been blessed with some gorgeous weather. Can you believe two weeks ago we had snow here in the streets of #YEG?! Now it’s over +25C! Please stay this way until October haha. Anyways, I’m very excited for this post. I’m featuring an amazing Toronto-based brand, designed and made in Canada, called 3rd Floor Studio. After meeting up with Shoshanah Kuper, Continue reading

#OOTD: Zara Suede Jacket & Ripped Boyfriend Jeans | Spring Outfit

Happy Sunday Funday!! While Edmonton clearly hasn’t gotten the memo that it’s spring and time to warm up, I’m done with winter parkas and bulk sweaters. In today’s post, I’ve styled a sassy and ever-so-versatile outfit perfect for brunchin’ with friends, going on a lunch date at a local pub or cafe with your boo, hittin’ the mall, a concert, and so many other daytime/evening events!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I usually don’t combine two statement pieces, in this case the jacket and the ripped jeans, but they just compliment each other so damn well! Continue reading

Look Book #1 – Styling a Denim Jacket (Video)

Hey y’all! It’s getting close to spring now…kinda…ish…okay, not really. The snow in Edmonton is (so far) here to stay (and sadly increase), but at least the temperatures are not too bad! I mean, we had slush, puddles, and mud a week ago! Anyways, my point is, it’s been warm enough to ditch the heavy winter parkas and throw on a bomber jacket, leather jacket, trench, coat, or denim jacket! Yup, I am definitely welcoming this weather with open arms. Come on, glass half full!

I had wanted my YouTube channel (CLICK HERE & SUBSCRIBE) to be fashion focused, but with the constant snow storms, blizzards, no sunlight after 3pm, and being sick all winter long, makeup tutorials were my go-to! FINALLY, the sun is staying out longer (so I can film after work) and I’m feeling more energized (who else gets winter blues?!). SO, here it is, my very first Look Book!

I styled 9 different outfits with denim jackets. While I use 3 different jackets, one would suffice in all the looks! The point is, a classic, solid blue denim jacket is a great staple to have in your closet because 1) they go with an endless amount of outfits, 2) they are timeless, and 3) they are perfect for spring/summer/fall! The denim jacket is one of those items you spend some more money on, great quality denim can last decades (as you’ll see in the vintage denim I’m wearing from my mom that she owned at 23 years old). Enjoy the video below and if you have any questions, please comment them below!

#OOTD: Red Fur and Mustard Yellow Trousers

Good morning y’all!! I hope you had a bomb dot com weekend. As you know, I LOVE trousers. Wide legged trousers. Patterned trousers. Bold colored trousers. The list goes on. On Saturday I was at Denizen Hall for a photoshoot…BUT we had extra time so I decided to get one of the models to take photos of me with my Samsung S8 (I’m team Android forever) and the photos turned out amazing! See them below. I love Samsungs mainly for their cameras. The photos from the photographers are coming and I’m so excited to see them!! On to the outfit…

I wore my mustard yellow trousers from La Maison Simons, my fave black Aldo stilettos to the shoot and pretty much was allowed to choose whatever clothes from Stylebuy to put with my outfit. I chose a gorgeous deep-V white crop top, my FAVE piece of theirs: the deep red faux fur jacket, and some gorgeous accessories. Only retailers can purchase from Stylebuy but I’ve already got a couple pieces from them I’ve found on Fashion Nova and Hot Miami Styles! Score!! Their clothing is so stylish and fun to mix and match. I love making outfits with their clothes and will definitely be showing my new pieces from them in soon-to-come posts!! Full outfit details below.

Ashley Takes Seattle! (Travel Vlog)

Hey y’all!! As you can see in the title, I went to Seattle, Washington in the USA! Yup, I went for a weekend and I know, I know, it’s still winter and not “prime” travel time to go to Seattle but the opportunity arose and I took it! I love traveling and I definitely feel like I don’t do it enough (which I’m working on changing because I’m 25 and I feel like it’s time) so I could not say no! Yes, it was raining but I did not let that stop me from venturing out and about in Seattle’s downtown area.

I actually stayed at the Westin in Bellevue, Washington, such a beautiful hotel and it’s in an amazing area full of shopping and restaurants in walking distance! Random fact, Bellevue is home of Microsoft and maybe Bill Gates (or did he move?). Anyways, Bellevue is only a 30 min bus ride from downtown Seattle. Yes, I took the bus everywhere, it’s actually cheap and HELLA better than the public transportation system we have here in Edmonton (y’all need to take notes from Seattle!). I also took the bus from the Tacoma International Airport to Bellevue and it stops about a 4 min walk from the hotel. I like to spend my money on food and experiences, NOT transportation, so if there’s a bus/train nearby that takes me somewhere in equal time to an taxi/Uber, I’ll take it lol.

ANYWAYS, I documented majority of my trip and made my first travel vlog! Please watch it below. Some portions the sound is a little messed up because my phone had gotten wet from the rain, but I hope you like it! Make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel and give the video a thumbs up! Thanks for stopping by. Photos from my trip will be up in another blog post!

#OOTD: Hello 2018! [NYE Outfit]

Happy New Year and Happy Sunday! Hello 2018. Yes, I know, it’s already February, but I’ve been travelling, find my balance between making YouTube content, work, staying healthy, and my jewelry line. Anyways, I’m so very excited for this year. For me, 2017 was, for the most part, a dud. Yes, there were some highlights, which I’ll mention below, but I’m ready for this new beginning. Here is to more positivity, growth in my career, hobbies, and relationships, and more happiness!

20171231_203009.jpg

Here is the outfit I wore on the last day of 2017. You might recognize these red flare pants from my C-Tribe Fashion Show outfit, BUT they are different. Well they are the same pants but I got them altered to be long in the front and thus, more dramatic! I hated the short leg on the original pants… it was not for me! Anyways, my seamstress did an amazing job on them and I got so many compliments at the places we celebrated the new year. The sparkly crop top was purchased the day before, I had no idea what I would pair with the pants but in all honesty, I wanted GLITTER. You can’t see them, but I’m rocking a pair of new black, bejeweled heels, which I will save to show in another post! Full outfit details listed at the end of the post. Also, let me know if you’d like a makeup tutorial video on my makeup above!

Here are a few of my resolutions for 2018 in no order:

  • Max only 1 photo radar ticket for the WHOLE year
  • Keep up a fit lifestyle
  • Pay off my vehicle
  • Save up $X by the end of the year by saving $X per month
  • Travel on long weekends (whether it’s by driving or plane, just GO somewhere)
  • Finish reading all the books I purchased in 2015-2017 & not buy/download any until then
  • NO buying any makeup until my birthday, I can only buy these “daily” items and only when they run out: foundation, face powder, liquid eyeliner, and mascara
  • Post a YouTube video every Monday
  • Post a blog post every Tuesday and Thursday
  • Launch Jewel Sofia online store by June

I have more resolutions that are more personal, or just not interesting enough for you to read, or I just don’t want certain people knowing them, but I feel like these are all goals that will bring positivity to my life, as well as help out my bank account, lower my stress, and expand my mind and heart.

Those are all I could think of from the top of my head, I know there are a ton more highlights with my personal, family, career, and other aspects of my life. Video: Purple Halo Eye Makeup Tutorial (Urban Decay Heavy Metals Palette!)

Hey y’all!! It’s been a couple weeks since my last video, but so far January 2018 is treating me well! I’m going on a trip for a little over a week from west coast to east coast! I’ll be posting about it when I get back! I’m hoping to do some travel vlogs too!

So, I finally got the Urban Decay Heavy Metals palette a little less than two weeks ago and have been dying to do a halo eye makeup look. This palette is my favorite shimmers and metallics palette! It’s SO pigmented, doesn’t need a wet brush to apply them, and the palette is so unique. I wish I had more events to go to so that I can do more dramatic metallic eye looks. I definitely recommend you pick up this palette if you’re in the market for some shimmers.

Anyways, let’s get to the video! I have a special guest in it at the beginning 🙂 Enjoy! Make sure to subscribe to my channel for more hair, makeup, fashion, and lifestyle videos! Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you in my next post. As usual, all the products used in the video are listed below.
