Hey everyone! I just felt like writing this to define the “Fashion and Beauty” portion of my blog. This portion covers around 35% of all my blogging content, so it’s important to me. Even though I have a category in my blog menu above with the word “Fashion” in it, I’d like to address that I don’t call myself a “Fashion Blogger.”
Fashion bloggers know about specific designers, fashion release dates, current and future trends, media (such as fashion show dates, etc.), the history behind a brand, and are more educated about the external aspects of clothing. Fashion is what goes in and out of season. It’s what is offered to us to purchase.
I am on the style side when I identify the type of blogger I am. I generally DON’T care who designed what, or if it’s a trend now, or a past one (unless I mention a fact or two here and there, that I more than likely Googled). If I like the article of clothing, I will buy it, as long as I can put together an outfit with whatever else I have. Style focuses more on the internal aspects. It’s expressing your identity, how you feel, what your lifestyle is, who you are, what you chose to buy at the store and why, and so on. Style is forever. As long as you are alive, what you coordinate on yourself is your style. Some people are obviously more laid back that others. The outfits I put together are to help out or inspire anyone that has a similar style to myself. What I want to share with people is only what I like on me, and it’s as simple as that.
Thanks for reading, and let me know your perspective on this topic!
