Happy Friday! Yesterday, as you can tell from my lack of jacket in the photo to the left, it was b-e-a-utiful out! Well, still chilly, like -3C but that’s doable. My outfit was pretty artsy, if you could have seen the whole thing from the front…I didn’t end up liking those photos though, so you’re just getting a side view, haha. I also cropped out the bottom because the muddy-snowy ground was not helping out the overall photo. FYI, I was wearing black leather ankle booties!
As you can see my hair is in two large cornrows…I did this on my own hair and fed in some braiding hair to make the length longer, took me about an hour, but I’ve known how to do cornrows since I was around 11 years old, so it may take longer for those that have never done them. Just keep practicing or get a friend to do it! Here’s my video on how to do the cornrows (click here) and here is the video I used to learn how to add in the braiding hair (click here). Anyways, on to the point of this post…wearing a fur vest…I’ve owned this vest for about two years now. If there was one thing I could change about the vest, it would be that I would have purchased one that was a few inches longer, they look a little better in my opinion. I’ve come to the realization that I prefer this beige/brown fur vest for more casual outfits (check photo below…pretty casual!), and my black fur vest for more “dressy” outfits. Beige/brown fur vests look GREAT with denim shirts. The two photos above are both in denim blouses. Fur vests also look great with long-sleeved, loose chiffon blouses, a solid-colored t-shirt, or even a slim fitting dress (mini, midi, and maxi)! The great thing about a fur vest is that it’s more of an accessory than a piece of clothing…it adds a little bit of sass to an outfit that would usually just be neutral. Experiment! Fur vests sometimes feel really puffy and like it might be a little too extra walking around with it on, but they can really throw some personality into an outfit! Thanks for stopping by IYGA to read me blabber about faux fur vests.
