Hey there! I hope you are doing lovely today. A couple weekends ago, myself and Janelle Lawton put together a fashion show and market in downtown Edmonton. It was called: Style in the City! The purpose of the event was to bring out Edmonton’s local designers, boutique owners, and of course, an audience that loves supporting local! I had the honor of MC-ing the event, which was a blast. The start of planning to the day of the event was about 3-4 weeks, so it wasn’t much time, but we pulled through! As you all know, I’ve thrown events before, but with a team of like eight people, not two, so this was a new experience.
The Fashion Show
For the first half of the event, we had Baluev’s Fashion Studio, Zapato Sanchez, and J. Lea Fashion House showcase many looks down our runway. Baluev’s Fashion Studio and Zapato Sanchez are both Edmonton designers that make their products here in the city. J. Lea Fashion House, as you’ve seen in previous blog posts (click here, here, here, here, here, and here), is an Edmonton-based fashion boutique! Enjoy the photos below.

The Market
After the fashion show we opened the downstairs ballroom at the Union Bank Inn for guests to browse and shop the designs they just saw on the runway and more. Other vendors included Jewel Sofia and Tiffany Blue consignment. Of course, I spent the whole portion of this part at my Jewel Sofia stand showing off and selling my handmade jewelry! I had a blast mingling with people that came over to check out and buy my items. Check out the photos below!

Behind the Scenes
All of the photos at the event were taken by Photography by Abhinav, Collections Photography, and Lindsay Thompson Photography. They did an amazing job with photos and capturing our event. Below are some behind the scenes photos of the models getting ready, the designers setting up, and us just having a great time! Makeup and hair was provided by Eveline Charles Academy!
Thanks to everyone that came out. We had a bunch of familiar faces, and a bunch of faces neither of us had met before, which was really great. Thanks for checking out my latest blog post, have an amazing rest of your day!
