Hey there! I hope you had amazing Christmas and/or Holiday with your loved ones. Days off are always welcomed and so is family time, so let’s embrace the season! If you know me, you know I rock burgundy quite often. In today’s #OOTD, I’m wearing three shades of burgundy (the third is my lipstick!) and I love how they all look against each other. Burgundy is great for fall and winter, whether it’s “in season” or not, who cares! If a color looks great on your skin tone, wear it, forget what’s “in” and do you. Hey guys! Hope you are having an amazing Monday! My #OOTD today is one of my FAVE outfits ever. Why?! Well, it’s all because of this jacket. What’s so special?! This denim jacket belonged to my mom in the 80’s when she lived in Hong Kong before she came to Canada. She bought it there because her and her bestie were fashionistas, and about 15 … Continue reading #OOTD: My Vintage Denim Jacket!
Happy Friday! How was your week? Hopefully you enjoyed it! Today I’m posting outfits featuring this gorgeous fluffy feather jacket from Tiffany Blue – The Designer Consigner. I wore it like a poncho or shawl over my shoulders (not using the sleeves) but it’s actually a jacket. I love how dramatic it looks, just like dark lipstick, it’s perfect for fall! There’s a few other designer items from the consignment store that I mixed with some of my own clothes in these photos. I did two looks, they’re very similar, but the second one is a more dressy and formal look compared to the first. Full outfit details for each look are below.

Hello everyone, happy Labour Day! How’s your summer been? I know many of you are starting school tomorrow! I haven’t posted an outfit for about four months (unless you count Instagram), so as you can tell, mines been a little…occupied. Jewel Sofia took up a lot of my time and I just finished my last market of the summer yesterday! I’ve also been just enjoying my summer! … Continue reading #OOTD: Fall Transition with Kate, Elizabeth and James!
Hey everyone! I hope you are doing well. If you are also from Alberta or watch news from Canada, I’m sure you’ve heard about Fort McMurray’s devastating situation. My prayers have and continue to go out to all the people who evacuated, which is unfortunately the whole city. I’m really happy to see all the Albertans opening their homes and welcoming people and pets to stay until they are allowed back! There are many people that will not be coming back to their houses intact. However, we must help in some way, we are #AlbertaStrong! You can text ‘Redcross’ to 30333 to automatically donate $5 now.

Happy Wednesday, my people! I got some great feedback on my last post (click here to see it) and I’m so happy to be back blogging on the regular (aka weekly). I’ve got another post for you, as promised: part 2 of my collaboration with Whyte Ave boutique Lucid Lifestyle. So, last week the weather in Edmonton was ON POINT…I mean, these photos were taken at 11am and it was already like 20 degrees Celsius…unfortunately it’s been FREEZING these past few days so this outfit may need a little more time to pass now to be suitable for the outdoors haha. Hey everyone! Happy Friday and more importantly, happy Earth day! I know this is off-topic, but I had an amazing time at Rihanna’s concert on the 20th! It was amazing; I’m forever in love with Riri. If you went, I hope you enjoyed it! It’s been SO beautiful here in Edmonton, I was so happy to walk around yesterday on a very, VERY sunny morning to shoot for this post. Hi there! Happy Monday funday! Hope you had a lovely Easter long weekend with friends and family; whether you celebrate Easter or not, Continue reading “#OOTD: My Dad’s Bday!”
Hello there! Hope yall having a great day. I am currently in Prince Edward Island having a mini vacay! How is it on the east coast? It’s a little quieter and spacious than back home, that’s for sure.
As many of you know (if you follow me on IG, Facebook, Twitter, or just know me personally) I have created a handmade jewelry company called Jewel Sofia. You can find images of all my items on the website and where/how to purchase! I’m really excited about this new adventure, it’s been a longtime dream of mine and I hope and pray you all love my items too.
Anyways, here is a simple look I put together to showcase some Jewel Sofia bracelets. Neutrals look great with a splash of color, which is what I did here. Without any accessories, this would just be a boring, camel colored midi dress, however, I spiced it up a little by adding the main color of teal to the mix. With the teal in the shoes matching the bracelets and necklace, it almost makes it pop more than if I just had one or the other. Enjoy the photos! Note: it was extremely sunny on this day which is why my eyes are squinted or not looking at the camera haha.

Happy Friday! Yesterday, as you can tell from my lack of jacket in the photo to the left, it was b-e-a-utiful out! Well, still chilly, like -3C but that’s doable. My outfit was pretty artsy, if you could have seen the whole thing from the front…I didn’t end up liking those photos though, so you’re just getting a side view, haha. I also cropped out the bottom because the muddy-snowy ground was not helping out the overall photo. FYI, I was wearing black leather ankle booties!
As you can see my hair is in two large cornrows…I did this on my own hair and fed in some braiding hair to make the length longer, took me about an hour, but I’ve known how to do cornrows since I was around 11 years old, so it may take longer for those that have never done them. Just keep practicing or get a friend to do it! Here’s my video on how to do the cornrows (click here) and here is the video I used to learn how to add in the braiding hair (click here). Anyways, on to the point of this post…wearing a fur vest… Continue reading “#OOTD: When Wear A Fur Vest?!”
Hello 2016! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. Whether you believe in resolutions or not, each day is a new chance to start any positive changes in your life. Here is my first #OOTD post of 2016. What’s the point of #OOTD posts you ask? Welp, I used to wonder that too. Before I figured out my own style and how to make my own outfits, I’d look at other peoples’ #OOTD photos and I’d realize, “wait, I have similar items to this…why didn’t I think of this outfit?”Long story short, they are to give ideas or inspiration to anyone that has a bunch of great clothing items, but can’t figure out how to put them together. People always think that to have greatstyle you need to buy a whole NEW wardrobe…this is not always the case. It can simply just be a rearrangement of how you wear what you have that can freshen up your look. It’s also important to have items that can be mixed into twenty other outfits and to really get your moneys worth!
My outfit today is pretty self-explanatory…all black with a pop of color. It’s more than that though, it is also a mixture of textures.

Hey everyone! Yes….it has LITERALLY been a month since I last blogged. It is SO not like me to do that, however, I’ve been working on a lifelong dream of mine, it’s still SO far from where I want it to be, but follow @JewelSofiaDesign on Instagram if you want to see what’s up with it so far. Anyways, if you’ve been keeping up with me on IG, you probably have noticed my slight obsession with this trench coat.I’ve been wearing it non-stop….not just because I love how it looks, but it is the comfiest thing in the world. I feel like I’m wrapped up in a blanket with arms(…snuggie??) but still look “put together” when I’m out and about. Ever have that problem when you have a gorgeous outfit on and you DON’T have anything but an over-casual giant winter parka because it’s “the only jacket you have” LOL…That was my problem. That’s the magic of a trench coat…they never go out of style and for fall, winter, AND spring, look great over just about ANY outfit for work, going out, going shopping, on a date, anything (minus some baggy sweat pants lol). I recommend to own one of these in a neutral color (tan, beige, black, or grey) and in a felt/wool material if you live in a cool-temperatured city like myself.
